Please
stake where meter is to be placed on property. If meter is not flagged
it will be set along side of driveway.
We are happy to have you as a part of our water system.
As a new tap owner, you also become an investor in this water company.
You are represented by a trustee on the board, which governs the water
district and its operation.
You are required to complete your water tap installation
as follows:
- Service line must be connected to the three (3’)
pigtail after the meter setter has been installed. We recommend that
you use a compression fitting to connect onto 3’ pigtail.
- The service line must be one of the following types:
(A)Copper-type K, at least 1” in diameter; rated at least 160
# test pressure.
(B)Plastic (PE—PVC, CPVC, PB) at least 1” in diameter
rated at least 160 # test pressure; nsf approved.
(C)Galvanized at least 1” in diameter: rated at least 160 #
test pressure.
- A stop and waste globe or gate valve and a double
check valve must be installed.
- The service line from the meter box must terminate
with a 1” standard polyethelyene plastic pipe, approximately
three (3') ft. from the meter crock and at least 36” deep.
- The service line must be installed at a distance that
is at least ten (10’) feet from any part of any sewage disposal
system.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IT IS UNLAWFUL TO CROSS-CONNECT A
PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY TO A PRIVATE WATER SYSTEM. A PHYSICAL BREAK BETWEEN
A WATER PUMP FOR A WELL, CISTERN, OR POND, AND ANY PIPE CONTAINING WATER
FROM A PUBLIC SYSTEM MUST BE INSTALLED.
Inspection will be made and meter installed when service
line is laid and valves have been installed.
Property owners or plumbers are not permitted to turn off and
on in the meter crock.
When you are ready to have the meter installed in the
meter crock please notify the personnel at The Western Water Company
office 513-722-1682 between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Valves must be installed, service line connected, and old system disconnected
before meter can be installed.
